Coastal Hazards

Coastal hazards embrace a wide range of problems including coastal erosion, severe winds, storms and tsunami, posing a risk to property, infrastructure and people within the coastal environment. Climatic change may result in higher sea-levels, increased intensity of storms and changes in sediment supply to coastlines. In addition, as coastal areas are developed and property values increase, the potential impacts of coastal hazards are also increasing.
